Police Identify Bladensburg Man Gunned Down In Apartment Building Stairwell

Police have released the name of the Bladensburg man who was gunned down in an apartment building stairwell over the holiday weekend, authorities say.

Duane Ellis, 43, was found shot to death in the stairwell of the building in the 4200 block of 58th Avenue around 9:15 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, according to Prince George's County police.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in connection to the murder.

Detectives do not believe that the killing was a random incident, and are currently working to identify a suspect and motive for the crime.
